Cacao Paste Drink

🌳 Origin: Produced by our family

Finca Cuyancúa is our family-run cacao farm located in Atecozol, Izalco, in the historic area of "Los Izalcos," an area recognized for its cacao production even before the Spanish invasion in 1500 AD. Close to numerous streams, the farm is crossed by a small stream that feeds the irrigation system. The entire cultivation  It follows the principles of regenerative and organic agriculture , for the sustainable management of soil and natural resources, ensuring the fertility of the land and the health of the surrounding ecosystem. Our farm originally grew cocoa and coffee, but in the early 2000s, Rafael Trigueros ( Juan Ra's father, co-founder of Vaicacao) shifted everything towards fine aroma cocoa, also establishing a cooperative and a modern fermentation and drying facility.

In our cacao farm, we grow genetically tested fine cacao varieties, such as Trinitario Acriollado and Criollo, within a lush agroforestry system (with cedar, conacaste, and ceiba trees) and tropical plants such as mango, banana, vanilla, and cinnamon. The region is rich in history; fragments of obsidian and small ceramics can be found, evidence of ancient populations. Today, Finca Cuyancúa is a reference point in Central America, where we hold seminars on agricultural practices that attract people from across the continent.
