Cacao Paste Beverage
HARVEST 2025
Our Commitment: We believe in the cultural depth of cacao and in its history rooted in Mesoamerican traditions. For this reason, we produce pure cacao paste, stone-ground from carefully selected beans. We preserve a natural, minimally refined texture so that the cacao retains its full aromatic complexity and integrity. An authentic beverage that invites you to rediscover cacao in its most whole and original form.
Why Pure Cacao Paste? Pure cacao is very different from common cocoa drinks or industrial cocoa powder. In cacao paste, we use the whole bean: it is not defatted, alkalized, or diluted with other ingredients. This means cacao naturally preserves its valuable fats, fibers, and micronutrients. Cacao is naturally rich in minerals such as magnesium and potassium, and contains plant compounds like theobromine and tryptophan, involved in natural processes of energy, focus, and emotional well-being. For centuries, in Mesoamerican cultures, cacao has been appreciated not only as food, but as a drink capable of nourishing both body and spirit. A cup of pure cacao can become a small daily ritual: a moment to slow down, listen inward, and reconnect with presence.
Ingredients: 100% stone-ground cacao beans
🌳 ORIGIN:
This precious cacao grows within a 100% agroforestry system, with a balanced shade-tree cover of around 40%. The plantations are located at very low altitude, between 0 and 20 meters above sea level, typical of this region. Here, in the fertile lands of Mesoamerica, Alejandro created Revival Cacao: a project that brings together small local realities in Comalcalco, guardians of ancestral varieties typical of the Mesoamerican tradition. It is precisely the abundance of water, together with the warm and humid climate, that creates an extraordinary microclimate, ideal for growing unique cacao deeply connected to its land.

Variety: Trinitario-acriollado – local genetics – specialty cacao
Fermentation: In wooden boxes made of Tabebuia rosea (around 7 days depending on the season)
Drying: On patios with cloths at the center of the beneficio (5–7 days depending on season and local climate)
Aromatic Profile: Spiced, with notes of dried fruits, banana, hibiscus, lime
Bitterness Intensity: Medium
Presentation: Blocks (the natural white bloom from cacao butter is a sign of purity)
Roasting: Light and short in a ventilated oven (<120º), just enough to enhance the aromas
Processing: Slowly stone-ground by us
HOW TO PREPARE CACAO FOR YOUR WELL-BEING
Preparing a cup of pure cacao is simple and can become a small moment of presence. We recommend a dose of 15–20 g of cacao for 150–180 ml of water or plant-based drink for daily use. For a more “ceremonial” use, the dose can go up to 20–30 g.
Water (or plant milk) temperature
It is important that the liquid is hot, but never boiling, to best preserve the aroma, structure, and quality of the cacao.
With a small pot
Pour a small amount of water (about half a cup) into a pot and add the cacao. With the heat off, allow the cacao to slowly begin melting.
Once dissolved, add the remaining water or plant-based drink and gently heat until you obtain a smooth beverage. Stir calmly, taking care not to boil or burn the cacao.
In a blender
Add cacao, water or plant-based drink together with your preferred spices or herbs. Blend for a few seconds until smooth and creamy.
With a milk frother
Pour a bit of hot water into your cup, add cacao and any herbs, roots, or spices. Use the frother until you reach a smooth and uniform texture. Then add the remaining water to fill the cup.
🌿 Focus & well-being
For moments of focus or presence, you can enrich your cacao with turmeric, nutmeg, or cloves, or with functional ingredients such as ashwagandha or medicinal mushrooms. Small additions that make your cup even more aromatic and personal.
🌅 Pre-workout
For an energizing drink before physical activity, prepare cacao with water or plant-based drink and add naturally stimulating spices such as cinnamon, ginger, or chili. You can blend it with banana or dates for a natural source of carbohydrates to support your training.
💪 Post-workout
After physical activity, cacao can become a more nourishing drink. Add plant-based proteins (such as hemp, pea, or rice) and, if desired, a natural carbohydrate source like banana or dates, to create a more complete warm smoothie.
🌙 Evening cup
For a more delicate preparation, use around 15 g of cacao and prepare it with an infusion of chamomile, mallow, or lavender instead of plain water. Simply prepare the infusion and use it as the base to dissolve the cacao.
This softer, more floral version is recommended only for those not sensitive to caffeine and can accompany a moment of calm and relaxation at the end of the day.
☕️ Create your cacao moment
Pour cacao into your favorite cup, take a moment to breathe deeply, and if you wish, decorate the surface with edible flower petals. Let this moment become a space of calm, listening, and connection, accompanied by the depth of cacao.
Recommendations:
Suggested dose: 15–20 g for daily use, up to 30 g for ceremonial sessions. Cacao naturally contains theobromine and compounds with mild vasodilating and stimulating effects. If you have heart conditions, uncontrolled blood pressure, or are pregnant, consult your doctor before consumption.
